Joe I didn't know he had a trucking company but it probably is the same Henry Hester. What year did he sponsor you? Henry designed the old G&S chromoly trucks, split with G&S and then made the same trucks in his shop, he also came out with stealth line of trucks that where burley and heavy. I can't remember exact dates but I would say that it was 89-92ish. he had a thing for this stealth stuff, one of his downhill boards was stealth something or other..I don't have any of those trucks left as I lost them all in a house fire. Here's a board of mine with a pretty good story behind it: It's a Kryptonics foam core from 1978 or 79. I believe it is a prototype for Malba but not sure. The reason I say that is that I bought it from Skateboards Unlimited, a shop in Westminster, Colorado. We were just down road from the Kryptonics plant in Boulder so alot of experimental and prototypes ended up at the shop. It's 9.75" if you can't read the graphic. The trucks are Indy 151's, the wheels are Kryptonics green CX-63's, truck bushings are Clouds. This board's story is a good one. I lived 1 3/4 mile from my Jr. High school and the distance to ride the bus to school was a minimum of 2 miles so it was a bit of a trek everyday to get to and from school. We weren't allowed to ride bikes since it was a rough neighborhood and any bikes left outside would have disappeared by second period, even if they were locked up. We weren't allowed to bring boards to school either. It was a nice gentle downhill slope almost all the way to school from my house. I came up with the idea of using this board as a legit form of transportation. My folks were ok with it, so I proposed it to the school. They said no at first, but I kept bugging them and eventually they let me try it. I had to drop off my board at the office right as I got to school and pick it up when I left and of course my folks had to sign a waiver that the school was clear of anything that may happen. It was great, I went from a 45 minute walk to a 10-15 minute fun ride to school every morning. I hit my first deep end pool coping grind on this board at Boulder. This board has been with me ever since and I still ride it often. It was what I rode when I "got back" into park skating a few years ago. I think I had blue Krypto CX-66's when I rode it to school. The signature is Salba's, who rode for Kryptonics during this era. He signed it just a few years ago when he was in town for the Penn demo. It sure is cool how boards from this era were versatile enough to ride pools, parks, ditches, parking lots and even cruise downhill all on the same set up. I have a question for some of you collectors out there. I always though that the trucks were Stage 2 151's but I'm not sure. I'm pretty sure they are 151's, just not sure if they were Stage 1 or 2? Thanks....... This set of trucks is still my favorite I've ever ridden. They turn perfect. I wish Indy would make a good truck with this geometry again!

Thanks MC. More cool stuff from davidm too. The Sims Hosoi is rad, that Morey Phoenix looks cool and I love unique shapes but something about that little hook right where I'd grab for a frontside air scares me. I'd have a broken finger first session. If I remember right, I think Chris Strople was one of the first skaters to wear a Flyaway.

Strople was so rad. One of the first to go bio with air. Invented the alley oop and, I think, the pogo.

Some more old stuff: Quicksilver, NOS Full Tracks and NOS Powerflex 3's, just like I rode it BITD: BANZAI, Banzai trucks that I need to refinish and some NOS Wheels: Stoked about this, it's a Triton, a foam and glass slalom board from the late 70's. The green one I had BITD was by far my favorite slalom board. I'm guessing that not many survived. Set up with vintage Mid Tracks, urethane risers and some 3DM wheels that were made for Lords of Dogtown (until I can find something I would have had on it 30 years ago): Next, a Makaha "Pro Flex", pretty hammered. Again, I had one BITD and wanted another, I'm guessing not many made it. Best guess is that Makaha was trying for a knock off of the Z flex decks with the molded grip. You can actually see the marks from laying up the fiberglass: And finally, not old but cool, a DP Thail Stix that I won on the Presidential Election. Finally set up:

That's all cool stuff. I'm kind of partial to the Banzai, it's very close to one I rode back then. Thanks for posting.

I had Powerpaws on my Banzai BITD.

Yep I just had to look to see that remote and looked again at the Aluminum Banzai.
Curious- Are the truck baseplate original and are the screws that hold it in? On mine were Phillips screws and base plates that looked similar but trucks were narrow and cheap (not original).

Truck baseplates are OG, screws are not.

Man you guys all have some cool old stuff, all I have are a few re-issues. You are right Jimmy those are stage ll's, you can tell by the beefier support wings under the hanger and the baseplates have a pinch added between the pivot cup and kingpin for additional strength.Stage l's are smooth under there. Here's all I have, 1 OG. Re-issue Alva and 5 ply Re-issue Rose Bone, I got bored with it so I turned it into a punk point stinger. Original stage 5 Indys and some re-issue G-bones This one is an original Jason Lee, I put some re-issue Rat bones on it when I started skating again two years ago, I still have the original 49mm spitfires I had on it back in 89 or so. CHECK IT OUT! Jason showed up at my halloween party and signed it for me! SWEET!!
