This place looks like it has some potential to be a fun "little" park. I have not seen it in person but it looks like all small walls, great for playing on the coping. Maybe a good place to take lip tricks to after learning them on a mini and before hitting one of the big bowls we have here in town. Thanks teech for the pics.

I just got home from teh skate park, the parking was confusing to find. the park needs a bath, my board is now covered in dirt and all the kids that kept eating it where also covered in a layer of dust. the walls are small and some of them seem to go to vert, that makes it a challenge for the kids to skate, but should help them as well.. howevere I saw that most of them avoid the transition and play on the wedges or flat boxes. Wow the bowl is small and tight, more like a transition ditch and since it has a large crain at one end it has a ditch feel to it. Every edge in the park is covered with metal, either flat or round metal, even if there is no way you can skate it it, the edge is still covered. I did notice that the cement is already chipping away, by that I mean the seams are chipped and already being repaired and the surface seems to be chipping away, at least on the large spine. On arrival at 10am the park had one other older skater there, by 10:15 it was filled with grommets and the minivans where starting to add up in the parking lot! this place has a grommet rating of 10 on a 1 to 10 scale! We went there yesterday at about 2pm and skated for about 30 minutes until the police showed up and ran everyone off (75 plus skaters). I went by that park many times during construction and all the transitions where made by using large curved metal forms and poured like a foundation wall. Once the cement was set they came back and ran mechanical finishers over them to grind/smooth out the concrete. All in all it worked pretty well except for the fact that the forms were like 6ft or less transition radius so "tight, tight, tight". It was all poured and finished by a basement foundation company out of Raytown MO. There is so much wasted concrete though on things totally unskatable I dont really understand it. On a scale of 1 to 10 I expected it to be at about a 3..... but I will put it at about a 6 as it was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be seeing that a local basement company did the work.

Why did the cops run everybody off? Is the park not supposed to be open yet?

They said it was still under construction and not open yet and as long as the orange fencing is still up then its off limits.

Gee I think Sullys mini ramp has more flat than that thing. I'll have to run by that place soon. The street area does look pretty cool.

Johnson County should be ashamed for constructing such a lame park. I skated it once and that's all I will ever skate it.
