So I'm thinking about getting a custom board from Deckcrafters. I've seen 'em around lately and I'm impressed.
I have a question that I'm sure some here have an answer for: What's the difference between "7 ply" and "Monococh"?
Someone enlighten me.

Macsdaddy and AZ decks are both the "Monococh". They are supposed to be lighter and have a formica bottom ply.

Rusty I don't have any info on the deck crafters decks but back in the 90's when the everslick craze was going on with decks there where afew companies that tried the formica bottoms for thier boards and from what i saw, the guys that hit it hard the formica would work great at 1st and then just start chipping away in large chuncks. I would talk to Jason T or Charles and get thier thoughts as well, those cats where hitting it hard at that time and may have some info/thoughts as well. Lastly, its just money. buy one and try it out. worst that could happen you are out 50$ and have another piece of wall art for the house!

Rusty, you want monococh, and I can't say enough about Deckcrafters. My current deck just hit it's three year mark, and still stiff as it can be.
Monococh puts a very thin masonite type layer on both the top and bottom of the deck, making it VERY stiff and durable. You get a lighter and stronger deck.

Oh yeah - for what it's worth all of Olson's riders are Deckcrafter's monococh.
