Hey, KC skaters, you're all invited to come over to STL this weekend (May 23 & 24) for a slalom race. As we've done for the previous six years, we're doing a race called--duh--Slalom St. Louis. I've heard some of y'all indulge in a little bit of slalom action now & then, so if you're interested in racing, come check it out! It's in Tower Grove Park in south St. Louis. We always have a pretty low-key event. Single-lane jam session on Saturday (take as many runs as you want), dual-lane racing on Sunday. This year the dual will be 77 cones, in honor of the race's seventh year. We expect to have maybe 15-20 people racing, with a wide range of ability levels. All you really need is a board with some semi-soft wheels and trucks that turn. And if you don't have one, you can probably borrow one from somebody at the race. First place gets 100 bucks, second gets 50 and third gets 25, plus there will be hand-made custom trophies for 1st-3rd in A, B and Women's divisions. Free BBQ cookout on Saturday night. For more info, check out www.ncdsa.com/contest_registration.asp?ContestID=427 or call me (Jonathan Harms) at 314 four nine seven four three six six.

Hey jbh, Thanks for posting up this slalom event info. It sounds killer. We have a handful of folks into slalom over here in KC but have struggled to coordinate a session that we all can attend. I know I'm tied up here in KC over the weekend but hopefully someone can make the trek over there.
