Honestly, I would hesitate to even call this a skatepark. It's super tiny and would really only be of interest to street skaters.
I had more fun in the adjacent parking lot.

A small park that seems very awkward in design. It does have lights and a great hill to bomb at the entrance though.

The reason it has lights is because it used to be a driving range.
You can still see the concrete platforms where the tees used to be.
I'm not sure if the lights actually get turned on at night.
I agree about the hill though. I rode down it on my street deck when I was there.

I guess that explains that strange row of about 7 concrete fun boxes along the top too. In all fairness to Smithville, they have made some effort to build a new park.

Well it's a start and I will give them that, sadly it will not hold the kids attention long and skatebaording will go on in town. I am to understand that this park is 5 miles from town. Is that correct? that seems a bit out of the way for the skater thats at the age where he is on his own during the day and yet not old enough to drive. Bummer for those guys!

joe, this park is actually at a boat ramp and there is ample parking for RV's and trailers. It is a few miles from town so I think they built this with the boater crowd in mind more than the local kids [adults?]. They had a sk8 shop there in town that was trying to get a new park built in town but they went out of business and I think the new park fell by the wayside too unfortunately. I may try to chat with them about at least getting a mini ramp built in town.
