If you can skate well here, you can pretty much skate any bowl. Lots of hips and tight smooth transitions. The concrete coping sticks out to much and, well... sticky. Needs wax. Still a fun place to skate.

Oh, I forgot to say that its the closest thing around here to a real pool. It does have real pool coping on one side.

The street course and bowl are so fun.

Now that I am getting some lines worked out it is a very fun bowl. Quick, lots of variable lines, and close to a swimming pool (bikinis....ahhhhhh)

It's a friggin death trap.
Not really, fun, reminds me of the 70's skateparks with all the weird quirks.

Gnarly ride. I don't skate here enough. The coping will eat you alive if you let it. The "real pool" feel can make small things feel like big accomplishments.

gnarly ride for sure. gotta proceed with some caution. many weird angles. go there cocky and push too hard and you pay 4 it. sure is fun though.

Again, this is one of the top three parks to skate in this area; but with gas prices and it's location, I can't get there enough to truly enjoy all of it's character flaws. One thing is for sure, every time I leave there in one piece, I am humbled to the fact that If one can shred this park, then he or she can probably skate just about anything!

it's the closest one to me, so i skate it more than the others. . . i really like carving figure 8's on the deep and shallow end part - if i had more time and more chuzpah, i'd be all over this thing. . . i like the deep coping. it is very gnarly, but it does feel like a real pool, for sure. i love this bowl. and though i don't skate the street area, it seems to be the best of the shawnee/penn valley/prairie village quality parks in kc. ..

I dig it...lots of lines in there, the coping is burley and it does feel pool-like. Plus some places in KC feel a litte sketchy if your alone, with the po-po next door I feel very safe at prairie.

Well, I've been skating this pool for a few weeks now since my son loves this park and I can say after 22 years of not skating, it can be intimidating.
I've worked up a few nice carving/kick turn lines that I do and it is fun.
Now, if I can just learn how to drop in without feeling really sketchy, it would probably make this more fun.

Okay so since this park is far away from just about everybody I think we should plan an afternoon or something to go skate it. I am down for a Wednesday evening session next week or maybe a Saturday. Let me know what you think.

Let me know what you think. Mutant Mike and I live fairly close to this park, I can't say if Mike skates it much but I do not. It has burly coping and is a hard bowl for me to skate, I never have had a real great time there and tend to stay away from the place and for being as close to a police station as it is I am always suprised that the bowl smells like urine.
